Craftizen Foundation is a not for profit company founded with a vision to preserve and evolve Indian craft skills so that they remain an integral part of our cultural fabric. Currently managing 20 craft based skill training and production centres across Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kolkata. We work with a wide range of craft skills and focus on marginalized communities including persons with intellectual disability and women from low-income communities and underprivileged backgrounds.

Job Overview
Craftizen has 3 livelihood centres in Hyderabad – 2 in the Old City area of Hyderabad, (set up in 2018 and 2020), where we engage with over 250 women whom we have trained in a range of skills like tailoring, embroidery, crochet, plastic upcycling etc. The 3rd centre is located in Hayath Nagar and here a small group of women have been trained in folk art painting and highly skilled hand embroidery. The important activities that take place at our centres are skill training, design development and continuous production which requires dynamic planning, on ground execution and regular monitoring. The centres exist to serve the communities we work with and to ensure sustained livelihoods for them.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Managing 3 livelihood centres in Hyderabad
- Program management
- Annual, Quarterly and Monthly plans to ensure we achieve our impact outcomes particularly income earning targets for our artisans
- Managing on-ground teams with defined KPIs for each member d. Ensuring efficient functioning of all units e. Ensuring capacity building of the staff
- Skill Training and Capacity Building
- a. Ensure our skill training targets are met
- b. Motivating women enrolled in the training programs to join the production unit
- c. Ensuring regular soft skills training for the women artisans
- d. Ensuring social security and linking to relevant government schemes to support the community
- Ensuring Sustained Production and livelihood generation
- a. Ensuring implementing efficient production systems and processes
- b. Ensuring implementation of SOPs to manage an integrated assembly line production
- c. Regular monitoring and evaluation to assess and improve capacity
- d. Costing and pricing of all our products
- e. Ensuring fair wages for all of our artisans
- f. Planning and managing design resources including interns and freelancers
- g. Coordinating with traditional artisan groups and craft based organizations in & around Hyderabad for merchandise orders and collaborations
- Donor Management
- a. Documentation and Reporting
- b. Budgets and fund utilization
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Qualification: Masters in development studies
- Work Experience: Min 3-4 years in project management / skill training / livelihood projects with unskilled/skilled artisans
- Leadership skills: Ability to lead, motivate and inspire our on-ground team and artisans
- People Skills: The job requires coordinating with multiple stakeholders including community leaders, donors, large clients, local customers, service providers etc.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing projects independently
- High Proficiency in MS office and Google cloud products (Gmail, Slides, Drive)
- Fair understanding on issues related to livelihood governance, social inclusion and rights based approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Language: Excellent command over English (both verbal and written form) and Hindi (verbal). Knowledge of Telugu will be an advantage Other relevant information:
Location
- Project office is located in Vattepally, Bahadurpura (Near Falaknuma).
- Job involves local travel within Hyderabad.Outstation travel to our other centres and to HO in Bangalore on a need basis.
