Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department of Promotion for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.

Under the sectorial team of Fisheries – Invest India, we are looking to hire an associate who will be supporting the team in various activities.

Key Responsibilities

The associate will be responsible for assisting the team to execute the strategy for promoting investments in the fisheries and aquaculture sector. Invest India has a dedicated Project Development Cell with the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India for handholding both domestic and foreign investors for doing business in India.

S/he will be closely working with stakeholders in the Department of Fisheries (DOF), Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) other concerned ministries/departments, industry associations, State Governments / UT Administration, private companies, etc. for promotion and facilitation of investments into the sector, policy advocacy, etc. The team members shall report to the Team Lead of the Fisheries Sector.

The roles and responsibilities of the team member would be to:

  • Work in close coordination with the team leads to ensure the execution of the strategy of the division or project
  • Support team in preparation of high-quality research, concept notes, reports, DPRs, and briefing notes required for specific projects
  • Coordinate with stakeholders for organizing discussions, workshops, roadshows, etc.
  • Lead the facilitation for investors in fisheries sectors
  • Regularly update the company database on leads and client cases
  • Contribute to the delivery of client objectives

Qualifications

  • Post-graduate or graduate degree in fisheries/agriculture/food processing/food technology and related streams from a premier university in India/abroad
  • 0-2 years of work experience in a front-end role at a consulting firm / developmental agency/ investment bank/investment promotion agency / global corporate working in agriculture and allied sectors
  • Experience of preparing DPRs, policy briefs, policy analyses, and research reports
  • Ability to work in teams and take ownership of the task at hand
  • Excellent communication, people, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver on tight timelines

Preference shall be given to those with domain knowledge in the sector. Some criteria may be relaxed for exceptional candidates from non-agricultural backgrounds.
