Area Manager Position at Amazon Fulfillment Centers
Amazon is currently seeking Area Managers for our Fulfillment Centers (FCs) in Haryana. As one of the most recognizable brand names globally, Amazon distributes millions of products each year to our loyal customers.
Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be responsible for four key areas:
- Safety
- Quality
- Customer Experience
- Productivity
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing work forecasts and determining productivity requirements to meet building objectives.
- Collaborating with other Area Managers to balance labor and maintain efficiency.
- Supporting safety programs and ensuring OSHA compliance.
- Identifying and leading process improvement initiatives.
Supervisory Responsibilities
As an Area Manager, you’ll lead a team of warehouse associates responsible for ensuring Amazon customers receive their orders promptly. You’ll need to have proper training and address their needs to enable them to focus on their jobs. Additionally, driving innovation and change at internet speed is a crucial aspect of this role, making Amazon the global company it is today.
Additional Job Elements
This role may involve:
- Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching below the waist and above the head.
- Frequent walking in large facilities.
- Continual standing and/or walking.
- Working in noisy, unlit, and non-air-conditioned construction/distribution environments.
- Accessing all areas of the building, including ladders and stairs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques experience.
Required Skills
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Direct management experience for employees and their performance.
- Experience with performance metrics and process improvement.
- Flexibility to work weekends and overnight shifts regularly.
