About Carnegie India:

Founded in 2016, Carnegie India, based in New Delhi, is part of a robust global network that includes over 150 scholars in Asia, Beirut, Brussels, and Washington.

Led by Indian experts with decades of international and domestic policy experience, Carnegie India engages with governments, policymakers, academics, students, industries, practitioners, and civil society to provide insightful and fresh analysis on India’s pressing challenges and the rising role of India in the world.

Carnegie India has three interrelated programs: security studies, political economy, and Technology and Society.

About Carnegie India’s Young Ambassadors Program (CIYAP):

  • Carnegie India’s Young Ambassadors Program is a one-year program for young individuals to understand research-based policymaking.
  • Based in New Delhi, Carnegie India is looking to recruit one young ambassador for its Political Economy Program.
  • The program for the selected candidate will run from March 2024 to February 2025.
  • The program gives an early opportunity to individuals who want to understand the complexities of the changing world order, learn crucial public policy skills, participate in the programming elements of a global think tank, and channel their interest in a particular area.

Program Highlights:

  • Observe, engage, and understand research-driven policymaking from Indian and global experts.
  • Contribute to a diverse community of young leaders in New Delhi and the broader Carnegie network.
  • Develop professional skills like leadership, analytical acumen, critical thinking, and report writing.
  • Participate in economic policy projects at Carnegie India, refining personal research interests.
  • Receive mentorship from Carnegie India scholars, assist on projects, and build professional networks.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicant should be a recent graduate in any discipline with an interest in the field of technology policy, public policy, law, management etc.
  • Applicant is expected to commit full-time to the program in New Delhi.
  • Preference will be given to applicants from beyond metropolitan cities.

Remuneration:

  • The selected applicant will be paid a fixed monthly stipend, along with a one-time relocation amount.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with administrative, editorial, research, writing, or organizational tasks for Carnegie India’s Political Economy program.
  • Support ongoing projects, conduct background research, and contribute to events, including the Political Economy Dialogue.
  • Provide research assistance on economic and regulatory policies, public institutions, and the intersection of politics and the economy.
  • Collaborate with various verticals at Carnegie India and aid in organizing the Global Technology Summit.
